Mette Munk Lauridsen, MD, PhD, is an active researcher in hepatology focusing primarily on hepatic encephalopathy. Member of the ISHEN since 2009 and part of the ISHEN Steering Committee since 2015.


In 2016 she defended her PhD Thesis entitled “Diagnosing minimal hepatic encephalopathy using continuous reaction time measurements” at the University of Southern Denmark. Mette’s primary expertise is the practical usage of various validated psychometric tests for minimal hepatic encephalopathy and quality of life assessment.


She currently holds a 50% postdoctoral research position at the University Hospital of South West Jutland, Denmark and is working to establish a liver research unit focusing on cognitive dysfunction in various stages of liver disease.
