Dr. Cristina Ripoll is an attending physician in the Gastroenterology and Hepatology, First Internal Medicine Department in the Martin Luther University- Halle Wittenberg. Her clinical practice and research focus on patients with cirrhosis and their complications. She serves as Secretary for the Baveno Cooperation and has served as Secretary of the AASLD- Portal Hypertension Special Interest Group. She did her medical school in Miguel Hernandez University of Elche, Alicante and did her specialization (Gastroenterology and Hepatology) at the Gregorio Marañón Hospital, Complutense University in Madrid, Spain. After her specialization, she participated in clinical scientist program funded by the Instituto de Salud Carlos III (Spain), which included a post-doc stay in Yale University with Roberto Groszmann and Guadalupe Garcia-Tsao. She has a Master in Research Methodology (Universidad Autonoma Barcelona) and is a ESOT-Liver Transplant Board certified.
