Manuel Romero Gómez (Sevilla, Spain, 1967) is Full-Professor of Medicine in the University of Seville, Spain. Director of the Digestive Diseases Department Virgen del Rocío University Hospitals. Head of group for translational research in liver diseases at Institute of Biomedicine of Seville. Director for the evaluation group for chronic diseases in the Andalousian Goverment. External expert of European Commission. National Leader on LITMUS (H2020: IMI2 project) He received the XI Award Javier Benjumea Puigcerver in investigation, Universidad de Sevilla-Focus Abengoa, 2014 and Medal of City of Seville in 2016. He has published more than 340 peer-reviewed papers on gastrointestinal and liver diseases with a factor-H 55 and more than 15100 cites. He has protected 10 different patents and coordinated more than 20 competitive grants for research.
