Bio for Dave L. Dixon, FACC, FCCP, FNLA, BCACP, BCPS, CDE, CLS

 

Dr. Dave Dixon is an Associate Professor and the Vice-Chair for Clinical Services in the Department of Pharmacotherapy & Outcomes Science at VCU School of Pharmacy. He also serves as Director of the Center for Pharmacy Practice Innovation. Dr. Dixon provides comprehensive medication management to ambulatory patients with chronic disease under a collaborative practice agreement with a particular emphasis on cardiometabolic disease and diabetes at an inner-city safety-net clinic and an outpatient general cardiology clinic at VCU Health. He is a Board Certified Pharmacotherapy Specialist and Ambulatory Care Pharmacist, a Clinical Lipid Specialist, and Certified Diabetes Educator. Currently, he is President-Elect of the Southeast Lipid Association Chapter of the National Lipid Association, co-chair of the Dyslipidemia Workgroup for the American College of Cardiology, and is an Editorial Board member of the Journal of Clinical Lipidology. He has been recognized as a Fellow of the National Lipid Association, the American College of Clinical Pharmacy, and the American College of Cardiology. Dr. Dixon is a 2006 graduate of Campbell University College of Pharmacy & Health Sciences and completed a PGY-1 Primary Care Residency at the Charles George VA Medical Center in Asheville, NC.
