Originally born in Guangdong, China, Dr. Jesse Xie is a graduate of the University of Mississippi, better known by its more beloved name: Ole Miss. He completed his medical education at the University of Mississippi School of Medicine and is currently doing his internal medicine training at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences and has applied for gastroenterology fellowship this year.


Dr. Xie has been recognized numerous times for his dedication to patient care as well as the advancement of medical knowledge and research. He was awarded the UM Helping Hand Award in 2012, recipient of the Alpha Omega Alpha Carolyn L. Kuckein Research Fellowship, nominated by his peers into the Gold Humanism Honors Society in 2017, and recipient of the 2018 Alpha Omega Alpha Postgraduate Fellowship. He is a published author in Gastroenterology, Digestive Diseases and Sciences, Journal of Gastrointestinal Cancers, and several other journals. He is also the creator of Endoscopies Explained, a video channel focused on providing patient information about GI endoscopies, which recently won the 2019 American College of Gastroenterology SCOPY Award.
