Regulatory Affairs Manager, VCU Health System


Danielle has extensive experience in nursing, caring for patients as an inpatient pediatric nurse and later as an outpatient nurse manager for eight specialty clinics.  She currently serves as the manager for Regulatory Affairs at VCU Health System.  The Regulatory Affairs Department is responsible for ensuring compliance with and serving as an expert resource on accreditation, federal regulatory, and licensing standards related to the delivery of safe and effective patient care throughout the Health System


Prior to serving within her current role, she graduated with honors from James Madison University in 2000 with her Bachelor of Arts degree in English and Early Childhood Education, beginning her career as an elementary school teacher.  After working with children for three years, she returned to school in 2007, graduating Magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from Virginia Commonwealth University and later a Master’s Degree in Nursing Education from Liberty University in 2012, graduating with high distinction.


As manager for the Regulatory Affairs Department, Danielle has spoken at a variety of conferences and served on several panels as an expert on regulatory relates topics.  In addition, she has worked closely with Infection Prevention specialists to standardize instrument pre-cleaning processes and with Behavioral Health providers to ensure patients are safe from ligature risks.  When she is not working to make VCU Health System the safest hospital in the country, she enjoys spending time exploring the world with her husband and two dogs through travel, hiking, and riding her bicycle.
