Stacie Stevens received her nursing and nurse practitioner training at VCU School of Nursing.  She also received her PhD in Pharmacology/Toxicology with a specialty focus in neuroscience from the VCU School of Basic Health Sciences. She has been the VCU Comprehensive Stroke Center Program Coordinator for 11 years.  With Stacie’s help, VCU Health was the first certified Comprehensive Stroke Center in Virginia and the first to host a Retreat and Refresh Stroke Camp in Virginia.  Recently, she was elected co-Chair of the Virginia Stroke System Task Force, a statewide consortium of stroke stakeholders of which she has been a member for 8 years.  It is from this experience, that she talks to us today about quality of care for young stroke survivors.
