Ashlynn Baker is a graduate of Old Dominion University and the Director of Milk Bank Services for The King’s Daughters Milk Bank at CHKD. She started her journey at CHKD at just 13 years old as a junior volunteer and stayed actively involved with the hospital until she hired as a NICU RN in 2006. She initiated one of the state’s first donor human milk treatment protocols in 2012 and later established the state’s first milk bank in 2014. She is an international board certified lactation consultant and the recipient of the March of Dimes Neonatal Nurse of the Year, the Women in Business Achievement Award and the Health Care Hero award. Most recently she was presented with the Breastfeeding Champion award by VCU Health and Children’s Hospital of Richmond.  Ashlynn is currently serving her second term as a board member for the Human Milk Banking Association of North America.
