Wade Tooley was diagnosed with cystic fibrosis at the age of five back in the 1970s when the world was seen in standard-definition and Technicolor. He grew up in a military family and graduated college with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Virginia Commonwealth University. He is a commercial artist and educator, and has spent the last few years promoting digital entertainment events in the Hampton Roads area. He resides in Suffolk with his wife, Suki, and their pets. In 2013, he wrote and published 508, an online comic book encouraging children with cystic fibrosis to do their chest physical therapy.
