Robin Lawson serves as the nurse manager for Labor & Delivery at the VCU Medical Center.

She holds a B.S. in Psychology from James Madison University, a B.S. in Nursing from Virginia Commonwealth University, and an M.S. in Nursing specializing in Women’s Health from Virginia Commonwealth University. She is certified as a Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner, a Lamaze Childbirth Educator, and as an International Lactation Consultant. She is a member of the Association of Women’s Health and Neonatal Nurses. Robin has worked in various roles in Labor & Delivery for the last 15 years. She is passionate about supporting bereaved families, breastfeeding, normalization of birth, mindfulness, and the role of birth workers in social justice.

Robin and her husband have four children and a menagerie of family pets. Robin enjoys cooking only slightly less than eating. As a family, they enjoy hiking, kayaking, camping, and connecting in nature.
