Dr. Keri R. Maher is an assistant professor at the VCU School of Medicine. She currently specializes in malignant hematology with a specific focus on the acute leukemias. Her clinical research focuses on targeted novel therapeutic combinations including small molecule inhibitors for acute myeloid leukemia and immunotherapy-based approaches for acute lymphoid leukemia.

Dr. Maher is board certified in internal medicine, hematology and medical oncology. She began her assistant professorship at the University of Arizona, Tucson in 2017 where her clinical practice focused on acute leukemia and cellular therapy and transplant. She was also medical director of inpatient oncology and co-chair of the hematologic malignancy clinical trials team.

Dr. Maher earned her medical degree from Western University of Health Sciences. She completed her internal medicine residency and hematology/oncology fellowship at University of Arizona. She also completed a visiting fellowship in blood and marrow transplant at the University of Washington Hutchinson Cancer Center/Seattle Cancer Care Alliance.
