Linda Cassidy is an advanced practice registered nurse and serves as the Strategic Advocacy Manager with the American Association of Critical-Care Nurses (AACN). She coordinates the development, review, and validation of advocacy activities that impact acute and critical care nurses, patients, and families. Linda passionately supports healthy work environments as a linchpin for fostering high quality patient care and optimal outcomes for patients, nurses, and the healthcare team. She leads AACN’s Healthy Work Environment Initiative and is the coordinating editor for the AACN Standards for Establishing and Sustaining Healthy Work Environments: A Journey to Excellence, 2nd Edition. Linda is also is a co-investigator in AACN’s work environment research.


Dr. Cassidy has over 35 years of clinical experience in the acute and critical care clinical settings and holds Bachelor’s Degrees in Nursing and Psychology from Southeastern Massachusetts University in North Dartmouth, MA, a Master’s Degree in Education from Harvard University in Cambridge, MA, a Master’s Degree in Nursing from Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, PA, and a PhD in Nursing from Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton, FL.
