Marian is a Clinical Practice Specialist with the American Association of Critical Care Nurses (AACN). Her focus at AACN is the Clinical Scene Investigation Academy where she serves as the lead faculty. Marian has been a nurse for thirty-seven years and has worked in an advanced practice role since 1990, working in areas such as Transplant, Cardiac Surgery ICU, Coronary ICU and Progressive Care. 

Marian lectures on a wide variety of topics both locally and nationally. She has also written numerous articles for peer-reviewed journals as well as chapters in nursing textbooks. Marian is an active member of AACN, having served in various volunteer roles locally and on the AACN National Board of Directors 2006-2009. AACN awarded her a Circle of Excellence Award in 2012 for her work with nursing specialty certification. She received the Borlick Nursing Research Award for her dissertation work utilizing a biobehavioral approach to examine moral distress in critical care nurses.
