Charul Patel is from Richmond, Virginia and has her Bachelor's of Science degree in Microbiology as well as a Bachelor's of Nursing. She has more than 16 years of nursing experience and has held a National Certification of CCRN since 2010. She participated in many Quality Initiatives during her time with Bon Secours Health System, where she worked for over 14 years and was honored with the “Mary Mahoney Award”. Currently, Charul works as a bedside nurse in the Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU) at Veterans Affairs (VA) hospital in Richmond. She works closely with the Performance Improvement (PI) and System Redesign teams to implement Veterans Affairs Performance Improvement initiatives in the medical center. Recently, Charul completed an Evidence Based Practice immersion and a six-month residency with Ohio State University and looks forward to implementing EBP with the Department of Veteran Affairs, continuing the work of creating a High Reliability Organization.  

 

She also serves as an Ambassador for the American Association of Critical Care Nurses. In her free time, she volunteers with the Virginia Medical Reserve Corps as a Level 1 RN Volunteer and enjoys traveling, hiking and spending time with her family.
