Linda Baker, DNP

Linda Baker is an adult acute care nurse practitioner who currently is responsible for inpatient care of veterans at a 240 bed Columbia, South Carolina VA hospital. 


In her previous roles with the Veterans Administration Health Care system, she was a nurse practitioner for the surgical intensive care unit. The SICU consisted of 21 beds and included cardiac intensive care patients. Along with the management of ICU patients, she was also responsible for teaching residents and new staff procedures in the ICU, and mentoring nurse practitioner students.  


Before joining the VA system, Dr. Baker taught nursing and pathophysiology courses at Marian University, Indianapolis, and the AORN’s Perioperative 101 clinical course, as well as surgical assisting at University of Cincinnati’s Clermont Branch.


Dr. Baker has a Doctor of Nursing Practice from South University, Tampa, and her MSN from University of Cincinnati.  She has been a certified advance practice nurse for thirteen years. She is a member of Sigma Theta Tau, the ANA and Epsilon Pi Tau. 


In her free time, she likes to garden and is new to foraging and forest bathing.
