Patricia Selig is the Director of the Center for Advance Practice at Virginia Commonwealth University Health System in Richmond, Virginia. Dr. Selig has more than 40 years of experience in health care and has an active clinical practice that provides primary health care for an uninsured urban adult population. Prior to establishing the Center for Advanced Practice, Dr. Selig was the Director of Nursing Research and Innovation for the Bon Secours Richmond Health System, where she developed a Clinical Scholars Program that provided education and support for evidence-based practice and nursing research.

 

Dr. Selig was appointed to the Virginia Board of Nursing from 2005 to 2013 and served in several leadership roles including President during that time. Research interest includes healthy advanced practice work environments.

 

She received her Baccalaureate degree from the University of Massachusetts, her Master’s degree from Virginia Commonwealth University, and completed her doctoral degree in the Department of Health Services Administration at Virginia Commonwealth University in May of 2003.
