Pilar brings a passion for language to her work. She studied linguistics in Spain and France and holds a Bachelor’s in language in literature, Spanish and French.

Pilar has taught Spanish and French in different colleges and high schools in Virginia. Currently, she is a full-time translator and interpreter with VCU Health System, but she has maintained a relationship with academia through a collaboration with the VCU SETI program which links VCU Academics with the Health System to provide students an opportunity to observe and practice as interpreters with the VCU Health Language Services team. In addition, she teaches Medical Spanish within the CVS Pipeline Program offered to Heritage Spanish-speaking students who are interested in serving as members of a Health Care Team.

Pilar holds a Bachelor in Philology, French-Spanish Language and Literature from the University of Granada, Spain and conducted advanced Linguistics Studies at the University of Montpellier, France.  She is a Certified Medical Interpreter (CMI) and Behavioral Health Interpreter.
