Samantha Hudson Bio

 

Samantha Hudson, MD, MEng, is an endocrinologist at Virginia Endocrinology & Osteoporosis Center in Richmond, Virginia. Prior to medical training she earned a Masters in Engineering in Bioengineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. She earned her medical degree at the Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine in Richmond and completed her residency there in Internal Medicine with a focus in Women’s Health, followed by a year as chief resident focusing on ambulatory outpatient care and medical education. While there, she also completed a fellowship in Endocrinology and Metabolism.  During this time she served as the head of the Women's Health Track in Internal Medicine for three years.

Dr. Hudson is board certified in Internal Medicine and in Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Metabolism. While she practices General Endocrinology, she is most passionate about Women’s Health Endocrinology and new diabetes developments, especially technology.

Dr. Hudson is a member of the American Association of Clinical Endocrinology, American Diabetes Association, and Endocrine Society. She has presented at multiple conferences, including the Virginia Commonwealth University Heart Health in Women Symposium and Virginia Council of Nurse Practitioners. Her research has been published in the Journal of Molecular and Cellular Cardiology. Dr. Hudson was awarded “Top Doc” in endocrinology by Richmond Magazine. She is a runner and gardener, and loves spending time with her husband and two daughters.
