Dr. Tammy Nguyen holds a Doctor of Pharmacy from the University Of Illinois College Of Pharmacy, where she also completed her PGY1 Pharmacy Practice and PGY2 Emergency Medicine.

She currently works as a Clinical Pharmacy Specialist of Emergency Medicine at Virginia Commonwealth University Health Emergency Department. As a pharmacist in the ED, her responsibilities include the optimization of medication interventions for acute medical emergencies, clinical research, and teaching. She is also a clinical assistant professor at the VCU School of Pharmacy and School of Medicine.
