Alison Clarke is the Community Engagement Manager at Sheltering Arms Institute. She is a graduate of West Virginia University with a degree in Recreational Therapy and a Certificate in Gerontology. She is a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist and Stanford Certified Chronic Disease and Diabetes Self Management Program Instructor. She has worked in physical rehabilitation for over 30 years with a career focused on developing community-based services addressing quality of life for individuals recovering from injury or illness. In her leadership role she has worked with non-profit, public, and private organizations developing collaborative programs and partnerships to support long-term stroke recovery. Alison recently facilitated a collaboration with stroke survivors, clinicians, and Healing Into Possibilities to implement a new stroke peer mentor program at Sheltering Arms Institute.
