Bio - Driscoll

 

Carolyn Driscoll is a Nurse Practitioner in the Hepatology Section of the Division of Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition at VCU Health System. She has been at VCU Health for 11 years. Prior to this, she has worked at a number of institutions east of the Mississippi but now considers Richmond her home. She received a baccalaureate degree in nursing from the College of Mount Saint Vincent in Riverdale, NY. She has a Masters in Nursing from UVA and also got her post Master’s FNP certificate at UVA as well. Her PhD in Nursing is from the University of Tennessee in Memphis. She began specializing in Hepatology while pursuing her Master’s degree at UVA which had just started their liver transplant program at that same time. Now she treats a wide variety of liver related conditions but has a particular focus on patients with advanced cirrhosis, liver transplantation, and hepatitis C treatment. She enjoys spending time outdoors enjoying Richmond’s green spaces and is developing her skills as a fiber artist.
