Dr. Hannah Lee is an assistant professor of medicine at Virginia Commonwealth University Medical Center, VCU School of Medicine in Richmond, VA.

 

Her specialty is in general hepatology and transplant hepatology with particular interest in viral hepatitis and liver cancer. She practiced for over 10 years in Chinatown Boston at Tufts Medical Center as director of the Asian Pacific Liver Health Program and co-director of the multidisciplinary liver cancer program.  She is currently co-director of the multidisciplinary liver cancer program at VCU Medical Center and practices both transplant and general hepatology there.  Her work has been dedicated to promoting liver wellness and addressing health disparities in liver disease, particularly among disproportionately affected minority groups with chronic HBV as well as communities affected by the growing healthy disparity of liver cancer.

 

She attended medical school at University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and did both her internal medicine residency and GI/ Hepatology fellowship at Tufts Medical Center, Tufts University School of Medicine.

 

She has been involved in community research, education and outreach both locally and nationally in addressing liver health disparities. Some of her work has focused on screening and linkage to care and community education and outreach for both health care providers and the patient population at risk.
