Jennifer Powers graduated from the University of Virginia in 2005 with a bachelor’s degree in biology and history and Virginia Commonwealth University School of Nursing in 2006 with a bachelor’s degree in nursing. In 2020, she completed a master’s degree in nursing with a focus in Nursing Administration and Leadership also at VCU School of Nursing. She started her nursing career as a new graduate nurse in the Coronary ICU at VCU Health and has served in that unit in the role of bedside nurse, clinical coordinator, interim nurse clinician and nurse manager. Jennifer is an active member of the Greater Richmond Area Chapter of AACN, serving as president in 2018. She is also actively engaged in the American Association of Critical Care Nursing at the national level including volunteer roles as a Beacon Reviewer, Scholarship Review, Circle of Excellence Reviewer, and NTI Planning Committee Member.
