Jeffrey H. Haynes MD FACS FAAP

 

Dr. Haynes is Professor of Surgery and Pediatrics in the Division of Pediatric Surgery, Children’s Hospital of Richmond at Virginia Commonwealth University. He is also the Director of the Children’s Trauma Center at CHoR/VCU which is responsible for all aspects of pediatric trauma patient care from prevention to inpatient treatment to rehabilitation.

 

Dr. Haynes graduated from The College of William and Mary and received his MD from the Medical College of Virginia. His post-graduate training in general surgery was also completed at MCV and included a two year research sabbatical studying fetal wound healing. He completed a two year fellowship in pediatric surgery at St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children in Philadelphia and returned to join the faculty at MCV.

 

Dr. Haynes clinical practice includes general and thoracic surgery of neonates, children and adolescents with a particular emphasis on neonatal conditions, minimally invasive techniques and reconstructive surgery for inflammatory bowel disease. His research interests have included wound repair, complications in pediatric surgery and pediatric trauma care.
