Dr. Spataro is an Assistant Professor of Medicine at the Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU). He joined with the Central Virginia VA Healthcare system in Richmond, VA and serves as the site program director for the VCU Gastroenterology Fellowship.

He graduated from Drexel University College of Medicine at Philadelphia, PA in 2015. He completed internal medicine residency at Thomas Jefferson University at Philadelphia, PA in 2018, and gastroenterology fellowship at the Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) at Richmond, VA in 2021. He served as a chief fellow for final year and joined the medical faculty at Virginia Commonwealth University in 2021.

Dr. Spataro’s areas of interest include colorectal cancer and artificial intelligence, esophageal disorders including early esophageal cancer, and education.
