My clinical focus since joining the faculty at Virginia Commonwealth University is in treating cirrhosis and hepatocellular carcinoma. I am an active member of the liver transplant team and a founding member of our multidisciplinary liver cancer clinic. I specialize in management of end stage liver disease, portal hypertension and hepatocellular cancer. In addition to my clinical duties, I am a dedicated medical educator. I serve as the program director of the transplant Hepatology fellowship at VCU where I shape the curriculum and guide fellows through their transplant training. I have been honored with multiple teaching awards and was recently named to Richmond Magazine’s top docs for 2023. I am married with 4 children. My interests outside of the hospital revolve around powerlifting, traveling and nature.
