Dr. Amir Louka graduated from Eastern Virginia Medical School in 2014, after which he completed residency in Emergency Medicine and fellowship in Emergency Medical Services at VCU in 2018. He joined the faculty of the Department of Emergency Medicine the following year and continues to serve as an attending emergency physician at VCU Medical Center and assistant program director of the EMS fellowship. Since 2019, he has served as the operational medical director of James City County Fire Department, and since 2020 as the regional medical director of the Peninsulas EMS Council. His research is focused on the advancement of pre-hospital critical care and the development of evidence-based training and patient care protocols.
