The conference, jointly provided by VCU Health and Central Virginia Association of Nursing Professional Development, is aimed to meet the needs of Nursing Professional Development Practitioners, or any nurse or allied health educator. This year, the focus of our day will surround creative teaching strategies to develop new continuing education programs. Michele Deck, MEd, RN-BC, co-founder and CEO of G.A.M.E.S., specializing in teaching adult learners, will present two sessions to our Pathways audience.

The first, Creative Teaching Strategies, to help you find new and creative ways to teach your learners. The session, with new hands on strategies for difficult concepts will assure that everyone “gets it”! You’ll learn about Flow Theory and its relationship to teaching, and explore ideas to integrate simple technology into how you teach. You will be an active participant throughout this interactive session.

The second session, Inject New Life into Teaching, will provide you with new and creative ideas to breathe life into some tired programs, and keep your class participant attentive, even those long classes.
