Overview
The 2018 FOCUS Pediatric and Neonatal Care Conference is the two-day premier event in Central Virginia for pediatric nurses and other health professionals caring for children to come together and share their passion for the health of all children. Day 1 will focus on the pharmacotherapeutics, and Day 2 will include presentations on front-line topics both through plenary and breakout sessions.

Objectives
  1. Utilize knowledge of common clinical issues to effectively manage patients with Crohn's disease and Ulcerative Colitis.
  2. Correctly anticipate the pharmacotherapeutic management of patients with respiratory conditions.
  3. Begin to safely prepare patients for conscious sedation.
  4. Discuss issues that should be considered when questions of gender identify come up.
  5. Use an organized approach to managing neonatal resuscitation.
  6. Recognize and provide initial treatment of children during the "Golden Hour"
  7. Provide a team approach to managing children with abdominal emergencies.

Day 1 (Pediatric Pharmacology) – November 8, 2018

The day will focus on pharmacotherapeutics in gender transitioning in adolescence, sedation, medical management of orthopedic infections, therapies in respiratory and cardiac conditions, and inflammatory bowel disease.

Day 2 (General and Breakout Sessions) – November 9, 2018

This day will feature plenary and breakout sessions on front-line topics such as trauma informed care, simulation sessions, sepsis, sleep apnea, pulmonary hypertension, abdominal emergencies.

Call for Posters
FOCUS is accepting submissions for poster presentations on November 9th (Day Two of the Conference). Visit (https://chrichmond.org/FOCUS2018Posters) for criteria and to submit your abstract no later than Friday, October 5, 2018. Note: We are unable to accept late submissions.


Continuing Education Nursing Credit:

Day 1: 6.25 Pharmacotherapeutic contact hours.
Day 2: 6.25 Contact hours.

One day: $145
Both days: $250 (discount of 10% if you attend both days!)

Cancellation Policy
