CANCELLATION NOTICE
Due to the state of emergency declared by Virginia Gov. Ralph Northam for the entire state of Virginia and the projected path and timing of Hurricane Florence, the planning committee has made the decision to cancel Back to the Future: Moving Beyond Opioids for Chronic Pain in Richmond, Virginia, scheduled September 15 - 16, 2018. The safety of our attendees, faculty, and staff is of paramount concern.

Those who are currently registered and paid-in-full for the conference will be receiving a full refund to their original form of payment by October 15, 2018. No action is required to receive this refund.

For those of you with hotel accommodations booked at the Hilton Richmond Hotel & Spa / Short Pump, you will need to reach out to the hotel directly to cancel your reservation by Wednesday, September 12, 2018 in order to receive a refund. The hotel can be contacted at (804) 364-3600.

The 2019 conference is scheduled for September 21 - 22, 2019 at Hilton Norfolk The Main, in Norfolk, Virginia.

Hurricane Florence has the potential of being a catastrophic event, and our thoughts are with all those in its path.



Objectives
  1. Design a rational opioid weaning and compliance program.
  2. Demonstrate knowledge of adjunctive medications, physical and psychological pain treatments and develop goals with their patients for implementation.
  3. Learn how to have difficult conversations with patients regarding the use of opioids as part of a treatment program for their pain.

VCU Health Continuing Medical Education is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to provide continuing medical education for physicians.
