Overview

The Division of Pulmonary Medicine and Critical Care is pleased to offer the 2nd Annual Advances in Pulmonary Disease. This event is designed for physicians, physician assistants, advanced practice providers and nurses in primary care, rheumatology and pulmonology who provide care to patients with COPD, pulmonary embolus, ARDs and pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH). In addition, a multidisciplinary approach to lung cancer pulmonary disease will be presented. There will be an opportunity to meet faculty and discuss practice issues during the round table discussions. Content will be case-based addressing evidence based approaches to care as well as novel treatments on the horizon.

Fees for this program include program materials, CE credit, and luncheon.



Objectives
  1. Identify current guidelines in order to provide optimal care to patients with COPD
  2. Identify current guidelines in order to provide optimal care to patients with pulmonary embolism
  3. Describe surgical manageemnt of sub massive pulmonary embolus
  4. Discuss the scientific evidence and translation to practice in the uses of neuromuscular blockade in the patient with ARDS
  5. Identify current guidelines for identification and early treatment of lung cancer
  6. Describe advances in the screening and evaluation of PH in scleroderma
  7. Describe the epidemiology of scleroderma related pulmonary hypertension
  8. Review advances in therapies for various types of PH in scleroderma
