Overview
Pediatric Pain Prescribing: Management of pediatric pain in the era of an opioid epidemic.

Objectives

At the conclusion of this activity, the learner should be able to:
  1. Review the pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic management of pain in a pediatric patient
  2. Describe opioid pharmacology in pediatric patients
  3. Implement best practices for safe opiate prescribing and monitoring to pediatric patients
  4. Identify and refer patients with potential opiate use disorders to appropriate care

Registration

There is no fee to register for this program.

Participants must watch the video content and pass the post-test (75% or better) to obtain credit for participation.

Nursing: 2.0 CE contact hours.  VCU Health is approved as a provider of continuing nursing education by the Virginia Nurses Association, an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center's Commission on Accreditation.
