The Heart Health in Women 2019 Conference will be a half-day educational conference for health care professionals focused on promoting comprehensive understanding of heart disease in women. Topics will include risk factors, prevention, clinical presentation, treatments and outcomes of cardiovascular disease in women, highlighting areas where women have unique disease features and outcomes. 

  1. To identify the demographics, symptoms and therapies for spontaneous coronary artery dissection.
  2. To review the unique cardiovascular risk in minority women and strategies to overcome barriers to improved health
  3. To review why women continue to be underrepresented in cardiology clinical trials and how this affects women’s health



Parking will be provided at the Virginia Historic Society, 428 North Boulevard, Richmond, VA 23220.


VCU Health Continuing Medical Education is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

VCU Health Continuing Medical Education designates this live activity for a maximum of 4 AMA PRA Category 1 CreditsTM.  Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

Refunds will only be given in cases of participant or family illness or emergency. Registration fee, less a $60 non-refundable administrative fee, will be refunded in these cases only if written notice of cancellation is received via email to cmeinfo@vcuhealth.org on or before January 2, 2019. No refunds after this date.

Minimum and maximum numbers for attendance at this event have been established, and we reserve the right to substitute speakers/topics, or cancel if necessary.
