Cerebral Vascular Disease and the Implementation of Stroke Care in the Rural Community.

Activity is for health care professionals (physicians, advanced nurse practitioners, PAs, nurses, rehabilitation specialists, community health care partners and emergency care teams) across the spectrum who are involved in the prevention of and care of stroke patients.  

At the conclusion of this educational activity, participants will:
  1. determine current guidelines for the provision of optimal care to those individuals having strokes
  2. integrate knowledge of what is available for the prevention and treatment of stroke
  3. distinguish obstacles of care to stroke patients in rural areas and future ways to overcome those obstacles
  4. recognize best-practice guidelines and recommendations concerning the implantation of stroke centers in rural settings.
