Overview
Learn how different hallucinogens act in the body and common dosing strategies. Appreciate the risks of use and the current state of hallucinogen research. We are joined in this episode by Dr. Albert Garcia-Romeu (Johns Hopkins Center for Psychedelic and Consciousness Research).

Objectives
After listening to this episode listeners will…  
 

  1. Define hallucinogens, and describe characteristics of different classes and how they act in the brain.
  2. Describe the current legal landscape and epidemiology of use.
  3. Counsel patients on risks, safety considerations, and dosing.
  4. Describe the current evidence for and state of psychedelic-assisted therapy, particularly for substance use disorders.
