The complex world of wound care has grown exponentially over the past years and with it, an increased knowledge is required to navigate the changing landscape. This conference serves to provide nurses and advanced practice providers, and physicians, physician assistants, and allied health professionals with the necessary stepping stones to enhance their practice and optimize patient care. The faculty are local, regional and nationally known expert researchers, providers and clinicians, who are passionate, invested, and ready to deliver cutting edge education.

1. Participants will have the ability to manage the complexities of obese patients related to treatment and prevention.
2. Participants will identify diabetic foot ulcers, understand the wounds etiology, and initiate treatment plan.
3. Participants will have knowledge of the phases of wound healing.
4. Participants will have the required knowledge to differentiate infection versus biofilm.
5. Participants will understand the implications of pharmacologic impact on wound healing.
6. Participants will have the knowledge to identify risk factors and apply appropriate interventions in the operating room.
7. Participants will understand the implications of wound care as it relates to c. difficile infections.
8. Participants will have the skills to identify and adequately care for fistulas.
