Overview
Join us for an information packed one-day course covering all of the sports medicine essentials you need to know about. This course will help you learn to identify the most common sports medicine injuries you'll see in your exam rooms, as well as their proper treatment plans, and when you need to refer for surgical intervention

Objectives
  1. Evaluate common sports related injuries to the upper and lower extremities and joints.
  2. Describe best practices for non-surgical treatment for common sports related injuries.
  3. Review appropriate referral for surgical evaluation of common sports related shoulder, elbow, wrist, finger, and knee injuries
  4. Identify common sports injuries in need of emergent evaluation vs urgent outpatient referral
  5. Outline common medical issues and nutrition counseling in athletes across the lifespan.
  6. Discuss latest updates regarding concussion in athletes.
  7. Identify appropriate radiology studies for evaluation of common sports related injuries.

  • If the event is cancelled due to inclement weather, all registered participants will be granted a full refund. 
  • Please note, Break -Out Session 2 requires a minimum of 10 participants to take place. If the event is cancelled due to lack of registrants, all registered participants will receive a full refund.

The Physical Exam Workshop is designed to be a highly interactive session.  There will be a rapid review of the Basic Anatomy of each  Joint being examined.  We ask that ALL participants come dressed in attire so that we can have you pair up and then will be guided through a step by step exam.  We will then use the knowledge and skills that were obtained to also review how to diagnose the most common injuries to those joints(That we heard about during the morning sessions plus additional ones)
