Overview

Notice of conference cancellation

Dear Colleagues,

Every year, we look forward to connecting with our trauma community at the Rao Ivatury Trauma Symposium and sharing together our knowledge and experience regarding the care of the injured. We have over 300 participants registered. But given the growing concerns around COVID- 19, and the inability of many speakers and participants to attend for various important reasons and responsibilities, we’ve made the difficult decision to cancel the meeting.

This was a tough call to make – The Rao R. Ivatury Symposium (with the DMEP and Stop the Bleed course) is an incredibly important event for our Trauma System in the region and throughout the commonwealth – but we need to prioritize the health and safety of our prehospital providers, nurses, health care givers and everyone involved in trauma care. We remain committed to the education and training of all our students, nurses, providers, and all other health care workers in our trauma community. Thank you for your patience and understanding – and we look forward to seeing all of you at the 21st Annual Rao Ivatury Trauma Symposium in 2021.

We will post shortly on our Center for Trauma & Critical Care Education (CTCCE) website additional information regarding cancellation.

My kind regards on my behalf and behalf of the entire organization committee,

Sincerely,
Michel B. Aboutanos, MD, MPH, FACS
The Fletcher Emory Ammons Distinguished Professor in Surgery
Chief, Division of Acute Care Surgical Services
Medical Director, VCU Trauma Center
Virginia Commonwealth University Center
